What should I have ready before calling?
Your street address and ZIP, affected rooms, approximate water depth and when it appeared. Mention whether the source is still running and any access restrictions. Describe only what you can observe safely.
Will a phone call confirm an appointment?
Ask the contractor to confirm availability, the assessment arrangements and any charge. A call or website visit alone does not guarantee a booking or arrival time.
Does extraction include the repair that caused the leak?
Do not assume it does. Bulk water pickup, source repair, drying and material repairs can be separate scopes. Ask who will handle each proposed task and what is included in the price.
Can the floor look clear and still be wet?
Yes. Visible water removal does not establish that the materials are dry. Ask what moisture checks are proposed and how any remaining dampness will be explained.
